OUR COMMITMENT

BY ALEGRIA HOTELS

Our family owned company, with more than 30 years in the tourism sector, has taught us to value and celebrate daily effort, teamwork, shared joy, affection and respect for our environment and mutual loyalty to our customers.

That is why at ALEGRIA Hotels we follow sustainable actions and principles that consist of controlling compliance with environmental policies, promoting recycling and waste reduction, reducing water and energy consumption, integrating sustainable activities in our hotels, promoting sport and local culture, and involving all our suppliers, collaborators and clients.

COMMITTED TO THE ENVIRONMENT ALEGRIA Hotels

COMMITTED TO THE ENVIRONMENT

In most of our hotels we are certified according to the sustainability requirements of the BIOSPHERE Responsible Tourism Insitute, a globally recognised hotel sustainability certificate. In addition, we are guided by sustainable internal quality standards and compliance with current legal regulations.

These are some of the actions we have implemented in our hotels and central offices:

Elimination of single-use plastics in our hotels and offices, replacing them with glass, paper or recyclable packaging alternatives (glass water bottles, paper bags, paper straws, glass or reusable glasses, wooden cutlery, paper picnic containers...).

Replacement of individual shampoo and shower gel amenities with refillable dispensers throughout the chain. In addition, all our toiletries are made from recycled paper and plastic, paraben-free and not tested on animals.

Installation of solar panels in most of our hotels and offices, which allows us to produce and consume green energy. Moreover, we currently have green energy certificates issued by the CNMC that guarantee the 100% renewable origin of the energy consumed in our establishments.

Reduction of water consumption in our hotels, thanks to the installation of aerators in the taps of the rooms and communal bathrooms. In addition, through the information provided to the client and their collaboration, we reduce the frequency of washing bath towels.

• We encourage individual portions in our buffets to avoid food waste. We have also largely eliminated single doses of sauces or other condiments to reduce the production of single-use waste.
